Varieties
Orders for 2012 have closed. Red Jewel Nursery has a selection of varieties that are available
to wholesale nurseries for public home gardening resale and more will be added
for the 2013 harvest. An order form will be available in August 2012.

Parisienne
Belle has quite a distinct “vintage” flavour. It produces attractive XL fruit
which appear relatively accessible for picking. This variety would be
most suited for tourist, “Pick Your Own” and local market operations
looking for that ‘special’ variety. It has proven during the 2009 season
to be softer and less rain tolerant than other varieties and may not
suit commercial production operations.

Bunyarra
- Fruit are large,
bright red and glossy with uniformly conical shape, with little shape
and size variation which allows very high pack out percentages. Flesh is
medium red throughout with moderate acid, very high sugar and moderate
aroma. Tends to produce lower yields, than other commercial varieties
but with exceptional flavour may be well suited to growers with direct
sales to consumer where a higher return can be gained. Bunyarra has
shown moderate resistance to rain damage and some resistance to Powdery
Mildew.
